This Article covers the Professional Package Release Notes (v35) and highlights each feature enhancement within the product release, including Salesforce Lightning Map and Apex Flex Queue Notification.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Proximity Search Lightning Map
The new Proximity Search Lightning Map replaces the previous 'Search Nearby' functionality. This feature allows Users to search for nearby Sales, Project Activities, Marketing Opportunities & Appointments, in relation to the Prospect record the user is currently accessing.
The latest Proximity Search Lightning Map can be accessed by clicking the *new* Proximity Search icon on the Prospect page, shown in the screenshot above.
Note: The 'Search Nearby' functionality on the Prospect View page has been deprecated and will no longer be available.
Why was the old 'Search Nearby' functionality retired?
The previous interface for 'Search Nearby' used an outdated backend mapping element that was no longer supported by the creator.
Upon clicking on the Proximity Search Icon, you are directed to the Proximity Search Page to select Filter Settings.
The Type drop-down contains the Objects to Select when designating Filter settings.
Note: The filter settings are dynamic and will change according to the Type (Object) selection.
All the required values must be selected/populated in the Filter settings before searching.
Note: Product Categories & Assigned To fields are not required.
Lightning Map will open with all the records matching the criteria set in Filter Settings.
The Data Table should now be sorted by Distance ascending (meaning the closest locations to the Prospect are shown at the top of the list). The data can be sorted manually by any column in the table, by clicking on the column header.
Apex Flex Queue Notification
Please contact the i360 team or your respective relationship manager to enable this feature in your production environment.
This new enhancement will notify the Administrator or Champion whenever the Apex Flex Queue reaches a capacity greater than or equal to 90 jobs.
The Apex Flex Queue page lists all batch jobs that are in Holding status.
Now, the Administrator/Champion will know to take action if their system approaches Apex Flex Queue limits.
This may include aborting any long-running jobs or checking the Salesforce status (trust.salesforce.com) for any reported incidents.
The email address in the Admin Notification Email field will be sent a notification email when the Apex Flex Queue reaches the limit. Admin Notification Email can be found in Public System Settings.
Navigate to Setup.
In the Quick Find, search for and navigate to Custom Settings.
Then choose Public System Settings.
In Public System Settings, click Edit and enter the appropriate e-mail address in the Admin Notification Email field.
Enter the email address of the System Admin (Champion) who will be notified.
Click Save.
How do I know if this applies to our system?
Larger customer orgs with a multitude of automations and scheduled Apex batch jobs could benefit from enabling the Apex Flex Queue.
Note: Apex Flex Queue is managed by the Salesforce platform. Improveit360 cannot make changes to the Apex Flex Queue functionality.
