Product Categories are the broad category of products and services you offer, such as 'Windows' or 'Doors'. Product Categories are used throughout the system to track what your Prospects are interested in purchasing such as on a Lead Source or Appointment page. The specific products you offer such as a '30' Bay Window' should NOT be a Product Category, the Products section of improveit 360 allows you to enter all of the specific Products you sell.
You may have already entered your Product Categories using the First Time Setup tab, they can also be accessed from the Settings Tab.
This Article will cover Adding and Deleting Product Categories and a common error message you might see.
o | Click on the Settings Tab, click on 'Product Categories'. |
o | Click the '+' button next to the Product Categories. |
o | Enter the Product Category name and click 'Save' or 'Save & New' to enter multiple Product Categories. |
o | Click the 'x' next to any Product Category to delete it from the list and click 'OK' to confirm the delete. |
o | Once you are done adding/deleting Product Categories, click 'Save' at the top of the page to confirm all of the changes. |

Error Troubleshooting
If you see an Error message that looks like the error below when trying to Delete Product Category, this is because your system has Email Content records related to the Product Category.
Navigate to the Email Content tab, locate the record related to the Product Category you are trying to delete, and Delete the Email Content record.
Choose the All list view and click Go
Then click 'Del' next to the Product Category you are trying to Delete.
Then return to the Settings Tab and proceed with deleting the Product Category from the system.
