Prevent Certain Dates from Auto-populating
If you do not want certain Activities to have its date automatically populated, simply use a slightly different Name. Instead of "QA Call" I would use "Quality Assurance call" which would allow our team to manually enter the Due date, rather than having the system auto-populate the Date based on the Install Start Date.
This automation can also be turned off entirely using a Custom Setting. Only the Admin User will be able to completely disable this automation.
Navigate to Setup
Go to Custom Settings
Go to Project Settings and click Manage then click Edit
Locate the Project Activity Date Automation checkbox, to disable automation of Due dates and Start dates for all Project Activities set this checkbox to FALSE.
Auto-populated Dates on the Project
This Trigger also populates the Install Date onto the Project based on the most recently created Project Activity with the word "Installation" as the Name, and populates the Confirmed On date using the Completed Date of the Activity with the work "Confirmation" as the Name.
If you create more than one Project Activity with the word "Installation", the system will use the Start Date from the Activity which was created most recently (the newest Activity), and populate the Foreman with the Staff in the Assigned To field of that Installation activity.
If your Projects have more than one Activity with the word Installation and you always want to capture the earliest Install Date, rather than the one most recently created you will need to enable a Custom Setting in your system. Only the System Administrator will be able to do this.
Navigate to Setup
Go to Custom Settings
Then go to Public System Settings and click Manage, then click Edit
Look for the setting to Enable Earliest Install Date and make this checkbox set to TRUE
