If an eLead has been auto-matched to a Prospect but should have been a new Prospect, you can disassociated the existing Prospect and Lead Source from the eLead record. This allows you to then Convert the eLead into a new Prospect record. Follow along with this Article to learn how.
Example A:
eLead with the same Phone number as an existing Prospect was auto-matched, creating a new Lead Source for an existing Prospect.
Step 1: Delete the New Lead Source record
Navigate to the existing Prospect, note a Lead Source record was auto-created. Delete the Lead Source record. Note: if you do not have Delete Permissions on the Lead Source object, talk to your System Administrator User.
Step 2: Remove the Prospect and Lead Source from the eLead
Navigate to the eLead record and click Edit. Next, you'll need to alter the URL to override the "Read Only" fields for Prospect and Lead Source.
You will remove the highlighted text from the URL (everything after .com/ up to the unique Record ID):
Next you will remove the highlighted text from the URL (everything AFTER the unique Record ID):
At this point, the URL will look something like this:
Now, you'll type after the unique Record ID the following text: /e?nooverride=1
Making the new URL look like this:
Click Enter to refresh the page using the new URL you've created, and you should see all Fields on the eLead are now Editable:
Scroll down to the eLead Status section.
Delete the Prospect, Lead Source, Lifecycle Watermark and the Current eLead Status AND check the Conversion Issue checkbox (change from FALSE to TRUE).
Now that you have dis-associated the Prospect from the eLead and indicated there is a Conversion Issue, this eLead can be manually Converted into a new Prospect record.
Step 3: Convert the eLead to a new Prospect
Navigate to the eLeads Tab and choose the "Unconverted" List View:
Click the 'Convert' button at the top of the page to manually convert the eLead into a Prospect.
The System will run the eLead information through the Search and Create tool to show you the duplicate or missing information that prevented that eLead from being converted.
In the example above the eLead entered a phone number, that matches another Prospect. If the eLead is a different household, click ‘Create New’ and select ‘Prospect.’ The system will populate the eLead’s contact information and interests, then click ‘Save’.
A new Prospect, Lead Source and Marketing Opportunity record will be created in this one Save action.
